What You Should Be Ready For When You Go Skydiving

Skydiving is one of the most exhilarating experiences a person can go through in their lifetime, and many people who try it once end up going back to it again and again. However, if you are waiting to go for your first time, you may be a little bit more apprehensive than excited. Not to worry, it is a perfectly safe experience that many people do each year, and as long as you are ready for what is coming, it should be a far more enjoyable day. Here are three things you should expect to happen on your first skydiving experience.

It Is Very, Very Loud!

While most people are expecting the cold air up in the sky, as well as the feeling of falling, a lot of people forget just how loud it gets in the plane and then once you jump out. The plane itself is generally far less insulated than a commercial airliner, so you will hear the engines much more clearly, and then once you jump out of the plane, the sound of rushing winds can be overwhelming. Just remember, if you need to say anything, to speak up as loudly as you can and be concise!

The Plane Trip Is The Longest Part

Skydiving itself doesn't take very long, usually less than 10 minutes, but the plane trip to the point where you jump can be up to half an hour or even longer. This means that if you are thinking about going to the bathroom or holding it in, always choose the bathroom! There can be other delays or backups in the sky, so this can be extended as well (although it usually isn't). Remember to breathe in and out when on the plane, and don't clench your teeth too much, or you will get a headache.

Take It All In

Skydiving can be over before you even realize it, and many people are too busy keeping their eyes closed and just wishing for it to be finished, especially the first time they jump. This can be a huge regret, and if you never go and skydive again, then you don't want your only memories to be of your eyes closed and the wind rushing past your face. If you force yourself to keep your eyes open and breathe it all in, you will have a much more fulfilling experience and probably get over your fear much quicker as well.
